PRE-EMPLOYMENT MEDICAL

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

The consultation and examination only require one visit which lasts 1 hour. The medical focuses on the patient’s medical history, family history and current medications while the examination includes an assessment of the blood pressure , spirometry, hearing test, skin questionnaire, Lung function, body mass index, eye sight, urine analysis and general health status of the individual. Depending on client/company requirement we also offer alcohol testing as an option.

Subsequently a written profile will be forwarded to the patient and/or to his/her employer, outlining all results and recommendations made by our doctor.

WHAT ADDITIONAL TESTS CAN BE INCLUDED?

These tests are performed in our clinic but only if specifically requested by the employer. It is therefore advisable to discuss this with the doctor in advance, as these investigations are not part of the routine pre-employment medical. These also carry an additional fee.

The practice receive the relevant forms from your Insurance Company.

Patient/client is contacted by the Insurance Company and advised to contact their GP to arrange an appointment.

Client/patient should phone the Rowe CreavinPractice on 051 370057 and ask to arrange a full medical for insurance purposes.

An appointment will be arranged without delay with the appropriate doctor. Each patient will require a 40 minute appointment with the GP and, in the case of a straight forward medical,papers are completed and the medical is returned by post on the same day as the medical is carried out.

Where tests are requested/required by the Insurance Company, once the tests are received by the Practice all results and medicals are returned to the Insurance Company immediately.

All medicals are scanned into patients charts.
